The Doctors of Manhattan Colorectal Surgeons


Dr. Bruce S. Gingold has specialized in the practice of colon and rectal surgery for over 30 years.  He is a fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and he is board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.  Dr. Gingold has written numerous academic articles and book chapters, and he has been frequently listed in New York Magazine's "Top Doctors" issue.  Dr. Gingold completed his general surgery training at St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan and was a colon and rectal surgery fellow at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, under Dr. Rupert Turnbull.  Dr. Gingold was the Chief of the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery at St. Vincent's Hospital, Manhattan.  Now retired from clinical practice, Dr. Gingold remains a valuable resource for his patients and colleagues.

Dr. Jason R. Penzer is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.  He is doubly board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.  Dr. Penzer served for many years on several committees of the national  American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons,and was an officer of the medical staff at Saint Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan.  Dr. Penzer was also the Site Director of Surgical Education for New York Medical College at Saint Vincent's Hospital.  In addition to numerous lectures and articles, Dr. Penzer recently co-authored one of the chapters of Dr. Victor Fazio's definitive textbook on Colon and Rectal Surgery.  Dr. Penzer has been listed in the last several editions of Castle-Connoly' Top Doctors, New York Metro edition, including the most recent.  He has also been listed repeatedly in New York Magazine's annual Top Doctor's issue.  Dr. Penzer did his undergraduate training at Harvard College, earned medical and law degrees from Yale University, and completed his general surgery training at St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan.  He was a colon and rectal surgery fellow at UMDNJ under Dr. Eugene Salvati.

Dr. Parswa Ansari trained in colon and rectal surgery at the Lahey Clinic, and in general surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center.  He is certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery as well as the American Board of Surgery.  Dr. Ansari is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery.  Dr. Ansari currently serves as the Program Director for the Surgery Residency at Northwell-Lenox Hill Hospital, where he is a member of the faculty.  His contribution to the medical literature includes chapters written for the Merck Manual Professional (18th Ed.) and Home (3rd Ed.) textbooks.
